“Helping people find their way out of homelessness can be challenging, but this award will help strengthen the region’s ability to care for families, youth, and individuals with no place to call home,” says Vicki Phillips, chair of the Maricopa Regional Continuum of Care Board. “Housing is one of the key components to ending homelessness. This money will go a long way toward helping people find housing situations that are affordable, stable, and permanent.”
The announcement comes on the heels of the most recent Point in Time homelessness street count, which found thousands of individuals living in unsheltered conditions across the region. Final numbers from the count will be released in late April.
