Pa’La Downtown is proud to announce the opening of their new lounge, The Lounge at Pa’La, on Wednesday, April 19th, from 5 pm to 9 pm. The lounge will feature a live jazz band and complimentary Japanese and Mediterranean-inspired wood-fired tapas and drinks, showcasing the unique style of cooking by Chef Jason Alford.
The Lounge at Pa’La is designed by restaurant designer Weston Brodrick, who envisioned a moody, softly lit space inspired by luxurious hotel lobbies and lounges of Europe and New York. The color palette is grey, beige, and black with a splash of Pa’ La blue, while the seating areas are monochromatic with an unexpected display of mural art featuring red dueling octopuses on the ceiling and an octopus’s garden encompassing the center bar.
The lounge is designed with live music in mind and aims to be the perfect space to unwind, relax, and escape the world for a while. Pa’La Downtown is known for its unique style of cooking, where the focus is on wood-fire inspired dishes made with locally-sourced and specialty imported ingredients.
Chef Jason Alford, best known as longstanding Chef de Cuisine and robata-grill maestro at Roka Akor, brings his expertise in open wood-fire grilling and ‘robatayaki’ (Japanese style ‘fireside’ cooking) to Pa’La. The menu features a mix of global flavors tapas, small bites, and plates that are meant to be shared, allowing guests to have a variety of flavor experiences. The menu changes daily to reflect the seasonality of the producers and stewards that Pa’La supports.

The Lounge at Pa’La will also have a special “Board Menu” available for guests to share along with an expanded menu of daily specials and handcrafted cocktails. The lounge’s beverage menu boasts a diverse wine list, specialty cocktails, and local draft beer selected to highlight the menu, as well as stand-alone.
