Avnet<\/a> awarded twelve community grants that support various organizations across the U.S. Avnet focuses on four areas of giving and employee volunteerism: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), Communities in Crisis, and the Environment. Grants are reviewed and selected on a quarterly basis.<\/p>\n

Grants awarded in the current cycle include<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Boys and Girls Clubs of Scottsdale<\/a> (AZ): Support for their \u201cAdding A to STEM\u201d program through digital art at three under-resourced branches.<\/p>\n

Center for Excellence in Education<\/a> (U.S.): Expansion of their STEM Lyceums across 12 states to increase the accessibility of scientific information to underserved and underrepresented high school students.<\/p>\n

Education Empowers<\/a> (AZ, CA, OR): Virtual and in-person STEM and STEAM programming that reaches over 10,000 youth across multiple states each year, including girls in rural communities.<\/p>\n

Girls Scouts AZ Cactus Pine<\/a> (AZ): Funding will support the pilot of a summer STEAM challenge across AZ, the two-month program will incorporate STEAM programs in workshops and camps.<\/p>\n

Girl Scouts of NE Texas<\/a> (TX): Support for their STEM Center for Excellence which provides girls year-round opportunities in robotics, computer coding, botany, chemistry, and more.<\/p>\n

Hattie B. Foundation<\/a> (AZ): Funding will help transport girls to their summer camp in Sierra Vista, AZ. The camp is designed to foster sisterhood and instill self-assurance in girls between the ages of 6-18.<\/p>\n

House of Refuge<\/a> (AZ): Support of their transitional housing program in Mesa, AZ. Case management services for families include job readiness programs.<\/p>\n

Ribbit Network<\/a> (U.S.): Funding includes sensor kits and educational curriculum to support their vision to create the world\u2019s largest greenhouse gas emissions dataset.<\/p>\n

Si Se Puede<\/a> (AZ): Support of their STEM Robotics program that supports multiple robotics teams in AZ, focusing on under-resourced communities.<\/p>\n

Southwest Human Development<\/a> (AZ): Partnership for their MAKERS of Change Assistive Technology Challenge, where over 280 high school students compete to create a therapeutic solution for a child with a disability.<\/p>\n

Swift Youth Foundation<\/a> (AZ): Support for their STEM\/STEAM programming for youth in AZ from under-resourced communities including their summer camp and year-round programs.<\/p>\n

Waste Not<\/a> (AZ): Support for their 35-year-old program that connects tens of thousands of people in need with quality food that would have otherwise gone to waste<\/p>\n

Community grants are awarded on a quarterly basis. Nonprofit organizations that have programs that fit into Avnet\u2019s focus areas of STEM, DEI, Communities in Crisis and Environment, are encouraged to apply for funding.
