The Sicilian Butcher, an innovative Sicilian and Italian restaurant concept created by The Maggiore Group, earned the prestigious “Breakout Brand” title and is the only Arizona-based and Italian restaurant concept to be a part of this esteemed list as selected by Nation’s Restaurant News.

Nation’s Restaurant News is the only independent publication covering and serving the entire foodservice industry. The editorial team searched for the nation’s fastest-rising new restaurant brands with huge growth potential and carefully chose the class of 2023 to represent what consumers want from restaurants today including high-quality ingredients, unique experiences and accessibility.

Breaking the standard for the Italian restaurant category with its quality-first, chef-driven menu, innovative customer experiences such as meatball and pasta customization, and a social media worthy restaurant design with modern flair, The Sicilian Butcher and its next-door bakery and cannoli bar concept, The Sicilian Baker, has reinvigorated and trailblazed the sector with leadership by Celeb Chef and Concept King Joey Maggiore, Cristina Maggiore, and Flora Tersigni.

“The Sicilian Butcher is Italian and Sicilian food and beverage, re-invented and elevated,” said Co-founder Joey Maggiore. “It is a tribute to my Sicilian father and celebrates Italian and Sicilian heritage authentically with a home-away-from-home ambiance combined with a real taste of Italy at your table.”

The Maggiore Group formed a partnership with Savory Fund in October 2022 for a U.S. expansion of The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker. Marking the second growth partnership with Savory Fund, the restaurant group previously partnered with the private equity firm to expand Hash Kitchen, a 2022 “Breakout Brand” and hashtag-worthy, award-winning brunch and build-your-own Bloody Mary bar concept. The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker has three locations in the Phoenix area and is poised for nationwide growth with plans to open nearly 20 new units in Arizona and additional U.S. markets.
