CommonSpirit Health, the parent organization of Dignity Health, has named Tim Bricker as the president of its Southwest Division. Bricker, who has been serving in the role in an interim capacity since February 2022, will assume the official role effective immediately. The organization’s Southwest Division is comprised of Dignity Health facilities throughout Arizona and Nevada.
“I am confident that Tim’s dynamic leadership will even better position CommonSpirit Health’s Southwest Division and the ministry both short- and long-term,” says Marvin O’Quinn, president and chief operating officer for CommonSpirit Health. “His leadership style, focus on operational efficiency and clinical excellence, and his ability to cultivate a culture of accountability and shared purpose have greatly benefitted our southwest division, as well as the entire ministry.”
Bricker has nearly 30 years of leadership experience in health care and has worked for various health care systems throughout the western United States, including Intermountain Healthcare, St. Charles Health System, and ECG Management Consultants. He also served as president of Dignity Health Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers between 2011 and 2017. During his time at Dignity Health, Bricker led Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert through a tremendous period of growth and was responsible for the implementation of the organization’s high-reliability efforts, which led to the hospitals achieving top scores in quality and safety.
In 2017, Bricker left Dignity Health to become senior vice president and chief executive for the South Sound Region of MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, Wash. Bricker also served as a consultant for a number of health care ventures for McKinsey and Company prior to rejoining Dignity Health.
“I’m thrilled to have returned to CommonSpirit and Dignity Health and I am honored to lead the southwest division,” says Bricker. “I am committed to the organization’s strong mission and values, and I’m excited to work alongside our dedicated staff to ensure the communities we serve receive the highest quality of health care.”
Bricker has a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University.
